We are thrilled to share that 34 Sunrise Senior Living communities were recently recognized with a 2018 Silver—Achievement in Quality Award, bringing Sunrise’s total to 55. The 34 recognized communities span the United States, including 12 in California, seven in Pennsylvania, and five in New York.

The award, which is modeled on the core values and criteria of the Baldridge Performance Excellence Program, is presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) as part of its National Quality Award Program.

“We are so proud of these 34 Sunrise communities not only for their focused dedication to providing high-quality, individualized care, but their ongoing commitment to evaluate their outcomes through quality assurance and performance improvement processes. These communities are devoted to delivering positive outcomes for our senior population,” said Sue Coppola, Chief Clinical Officer for Sunrise. “Through our systematic, evidence-based approach to care and services with a strong focus on coordination, we continue to strive for excellence in the ways we help promote the overall health and wellness of our residents.”

The National Quality Award Program includes three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Trained examiners review each member application to determine if the center has met the criteria. The Silver National Quality Award recognizes long-term and post-acute communities’ achievement in developing and demonstrating effective approaches that help improve performance and health care outcomes.
