60 Minute Vinyasa Yoga Class with Handstand Play – Level 2/3 – Intermediate/Advanced – Adho Mukha Vrksasana

The cues are delivered calmly but don’t let that fool you. There will be sweat.

In this video we visit a handful of advanced postures and a couple of arm balance sequences. Handstands are sprinkled throughout and there is time for inversion play/practice at the end of the class. Please consider my asana cues suggestions or “invitations”. In other words, don’t feel like you have to tackle every single posture or sequence today (unless you want to!). Work at the pace that is comfortable and reasonable for your body and spirit at this moment. I have tried to provide alternatives and modifications where appropriate.

You’ll notice that the last few minutes of the video consist of a kind of inversion romper room. You can practice along with me as I try out different types of handstand (Adho Mukha Vrksasana) variations, *or* simply work on the inversion or pinnacle posture that suits you (even if that means fast-forwarding to Savasana :)).

My voiceover, you’ll see, is definitely imperfect; but I think (I hope!) I’ve made strides since my earlier videos. Recording and posting these YouTube classes has been an evolving project for me, and I take all of your comments to heart. Thank you very much for your feedback.

When I first posted a 30-minute video, it was because there were so few long(ish), free classes on the internet. I wanted to meet a need. Since then, hundreds of classes have cropped up on YouTube and it’s increasingly possible to find yoga instruction online. Yoga is more available than ever and that can only be a good thing.   4. Slowly I'm see progress, I thought I wouldnt be able to hold the handstand, but I was suprised I could hold in for long time without touching the wall. Falling to the wheel is tough either with headstand, handstand or forearm stand, is there any trick that could help?
