  2. chicken marinade:

    1 whole chicken w/ bones, chopped into pieces
    150g natural yogurt
    2 large garlic gloves
    1 inch ginger
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp turmeric
    1 tsp garam masala
    combined spices and yogurt
    marinate chicken at least 20 minutes, but preferably overnight

    sauce:

    heat 2-3 tbsp oil
    roughly chop 3 med onion
    add 1 tbsp cumin seed
    cook until golden brown

    add 2 garlic cloves grated
    add 1 inch ginger grated
    mix & cook 2 minutes

    add 4 tomatoes roughly chop (or 400gm canned diced tomatoes)
    add 2tbsp tomato puree
    cover cook low heat 15-20 minutes

    add 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp chili, 1 tbsp ground coriander
    mix 4-5 min on medium heat

    add chicken, mix well
    add 150ml water
    mix, cover, cook on low-med heat for 40-45 minutes
    turn after 15 minutes to avoid sticking to bottom

    turn heat off, let rest for 5 minutes
    garnish with fresh coriander

  3. Your videos always remind me of home. Do you know any gujrati dishes? My mum used to make bajias from a mixture of lentels then served them soaked in runny potato curry. Do you know any recipes like that?

  4. I'm Making this tonight for a group of friends, SO EXCITED( FIRST TIME MAKING CURRY!!) ! I stopped by my towns new Indian Market to pick up ingredients. As I described the recipe the shop owner goes omg my mouth is watering! At the checkout stand I saw Your BOOOK! Letting the shop owner know it was you who taught me, she goes AH she's lived in this town for 18+ years! Needless to say, I look forward to meeting you and taking some classes!   5. Gday! Love your videos and has inspired me to do more indian cooking. In this recipe the chicken looks to be around 2 kg cause im in tokyo and chicken are no bigger than 1kg. Is that about right?

  6. Hi what is Marsala and also why do you use yogurt and if what type of yogurt do you use to use Greek yogurt plain Greek yogurt can you use coconut milk instead. Does the yogurt give it a sour taste. And where do you buy to Marcela I ain't never seen it in the store. Thank you looks good though
