Holy Yoga is the intentional practice of connecting our entire being, body, mind and spirit with God: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. With complete reliance on God’s Word and prayer, Holy Yoga invites us to surrender and introduces us to Grace. When we breathe and move and have our being in Christ, we find ourselves in the flow of His magnificence. There is often a misunderstanding that yoga is a religion; it is not. Yoga is a spiritual discipline, much like prayer, fasting and meditation. Yoga has the capacity to enhance our personal beliefs and faith.

  1. Let us think for a moment, is there such a concept as "Unholy Yoga?" Listening to your "meditations," it would appear there is. Any Yoga practice that is traditional Hindu derived and authentic, would be for you, unholy yoga. For instance you ruled out saying Namasthe in Holy Yoga. You ruled out chanting Om. And yet you talk about chakras. WHAT a weird collection of ideas! Chakras are a Hindu Yogic spiritual concept of energy centers of Praana, our life energy, in 7 centers of our bodies. If you accept the concept of chakras, then you accept a Hindu/Yoga concept of spirituality.

Seems to me this whole (ah, yes, the word "holy" is entirely linked to "wholeness.") thing is a MARKETING PLOY to sell yoga practice and classes to Christians, and also to attract ignorant people to your mission saying, oh, look, "We Do Yoga in Christ!"

Cheap, really cheap. But for Christian marketers, anything goes. Physical Yoga is called Hatha Yoga, pronounced hut-ha, not haatha with the th like in thin or thick. It was first codified in a treatise called the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Translates to An Illumination on Yoga. It clearly states that there is really no point in doing the Aasanas (it is not asaanas) if you ignore trying to awaken the innate spirituality within you. There is no point doing yoga if you don't believe in the concept of Praana (Chi in Chinese) our life energy. The various poses, aasanas, are to allow our praana to flow evenly. As per yoga, our beings are composed of five layers, or Koshas. Body, Praana, and three layers of mind. The mind layers are: ego layer, wisdom layer, and joy layer. The deepest layer is that of joy, deep peace and bliss. It is by quietening the ego layer that the wisdom and joy parts of our minds are allowed to prevail. Yoga really is about this, about calming the ego mind. Yogas Chittha Vritthi Nirodhaha. Yoga consists of the cessation of the turbulence of the mind. The second line of the verse says, Tadaa Dhrastu Svaroope Vaasthaanam. Dhrastu is the Seer, the One who sees. It is the universal mind even deeper than the Joy mind. It is the Mind of God. The word Om represents God; just hum hmmmm for a whole minute and you'll see how nicely it quietens the mind. Om represents God, it is not God. Yes, the cardinal teaching of Yoga is that God dwells deep within us, silent, and indeed silenced by our ego minds that are obsessed in ideology. Obsessive Christian ideology also shuts out the God within. The early, true Christians were the Gnostics. They knew all about this truth. For them the Christos is the Great Mind within. To be Gnostic is to "know this truth." But they were ruthlessly murdered and eliminated by the Church. So "Christianity" is founded on false premises and distorted concepts. And now you add more to this confusion by stealing Yoga and trying to make it "Christian." Ruthless is a word that comes to mind.

Yoga is Indian and based on Hindu beliefs and ideas. Anyone who says other wise is a misguided moronic idiot who wants to use cultural appropriation to discredit what Yoga has and always will be. This is a bastardized bullshit version of Yoga. The disgusting and ugly Brooke learned Yoga from Hindu yogis. IF you subscribe to this, you are a fake and a fraud & will never reach inner peace without base understanding of hinduism.

  3. I am practicing Yoga for last 16 years, I cannot express in words the importance of Yoga in my life in all aspects; physically, mentally and spiritually.
Glad to see Christians trying to make Yoga as a part of their daily life. Recently I visited one of the Holy Yoga studio. I started my introduction by saying I am born in a Hindu family and want to learn Yoga. In our about 20 minutes conversation, her only focus was to glorify Christianity even though I try to divert her by asking question about Yoga. She also explained how good the “Holy Yoga” is doing in reaching out in Hindu community of India and Nepal. Then I visited your (Holy Yoga) web-page, and understand the big picture and the purpose of Holy-Yoga mission.
As a true practitioner of Yoga I felt bad that just to promote Christian Missionary in Hindu communities, you all are using Yoga as an attractive trap. Please let the Yoga be secular…,
We already have enough of religious havoc, please, don’t pull down the pure spiritual practice of Yoga into communal matrix.
    AUM
    God Bless you.

  4. You guys are thieves stealing a Hindu tradition meant to unify mind, body and atman to realize divinity in oneself which is what Yoga is, and calling this sham that you are practicing ‘YOGA’

  5. Your ministry, site, message and all the info are a true Godsend for me personally. As a longtime yogi and Christian, I felt that God led me to your ministry pages as an answer to what my practice was missing…the tools and guidance to focus on the & my one true God and not those of eastern religions. Thanks again! My prayer is that God continue to shower his blessings on Holy Yoga. 🙂
