Yoga for Digestion | 20-Minute Vinyasa Flow 💫Intermediate


Today’s yoga class is all about digestion.

Nothing really gets you down like digestive discomfort. It’s the worst.

Gurgles, queaziness, bloating… ugh.

Our gut is so delicate and yet so integral to our day to day happiness. Now, there are many factors and variables affecting our digestion, certainly. But though it is complex, there are a few rules of thumb when it comes to keepin’ things copacetic and on “tract.”

The Secret to a Happy Digestive Tract?

First off, eating fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and beans (i.e. fiber rich foods,) drinking lots of water, and avoiding “foods” void of fiber (i.e. animals and products made from them,) is one of the best ways to ensure that your intestines are happy.

That being said, if things are still feeling a bit backed up, there’s no better way to get things flowin’ than with a vinyasa flow.

Exercise = better digestion
Yoga = better digestion
Twisting movements = digestion gold

As most of you know, I went to India last year and I trained to be a yoga teacher. Since returning home to Paris eight months ago, I’ve done a lot of… “processing,” ie. downward facing procrastination. See, I’ve been experiencing all kinds of resistance. In a world so saturated with yoga teachers and styles, is there even real estate to be had? Is there a nook or cranny somewhere on cyberspace for my yogic voice?

I actually don’t know. But here goes…
